How It Works

The Placetra Model

A structured approach to local discovery — where every place, brand, city, category, and collection has a dedicated page connected to everything around it.

The Concept

Structure Creates Better Discovery

Traditional local search gives you a flat list of results. Placetra organizes places into a navigable structure with clear relationships and multiple entry points.

Most discovery platforms treat every place as an isolated entity — a pin on a map with a rating. But places don't exist in isolation. A cafe belongs to a brand, the brand operates across cities, the city has neighborhoods with distinct characters. Placetra makes these relationships explicit and navigable.

Instead of one search box and one type of result, Placetra offers five distinct page types, each designed for a different stage of discovery. Together, they form a web of local knowledge you can browse, search, and explore from any direction.

Five Page Types

How Local Knowledge Is Organized

Each page type serves a specific role in the discovery journey.

Place Pages

One page per physical location. Includes hours, address, amenities, reviews, photos, and AI-generated summaries. The most granular level of detail.

Brand Pages

One page per brand or business chain. Shows all locations, brand overview, and cross-city presence. Connect individual places to the brand behind them.

City Pages

One page per city. Surfaces top places by category, popular neighborhoods, trending spots, and city-level statistics.

Category Pages

One page per category (Cafes, Restaurants, Hotels, etc.). Filter and browse all places in a category, with city and brand cross-references.

Collection Pages

Curated thematic groupings like "Best Rooftop Bars" or "Work-Friendly Cafes." Editorial curation layered on top of structured data.

Data Pipeline

From Raw Data to Structured Pages

Three stages transform public information into navigable place pages.

1

Collect & Normalize

We aggregate data from maps APIs, business registries, public directories, and open datasets. Fields are normalized into a consistent schema.

2

Enrich & Generate

AI models generate readable summaries, categorize amenities, extract review insights, and create "best for" recommendations based on available data.

3

Connect & Serve

Structured data populates template pages. Place-to-brand, brand-to-city, and category relationships are linked automatically. Pages are generated at scale.

Benefits

Who Placetra Serves

For Explorers

Find places based on what you want to do, not just keywords. Browse by city, category, brand, or curated collection. Every page gives you the context to decide — hours, amenities, reviews, nearby options — without switching between apps.

For Businesses

Your place appears in a structured context — connected to your brand, visible in your category and city. Claim your listing to update information, add photos, and respond to reviews. Reach people at the moment of discovery.
